If you are a first time buyer you are not required to pay stamp
duty on a residential property purchase.
To qualify as a first time buyer you must not have previously
purchased a property in Ireland or in any other country. The property
that you are purchasing must be for your own use as your principle
place of residence. If the property is being purchased jointly each
of the purchasers must be first time buyers in order for stamp duty
exemption to apply.
